A Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Bonham ISD was held Thursday, May 16, 2013, beginning at 6:00 PM in the Bonham ISD Administration Center, 1005 Chestnut Street, Bonham, Texas 75418.

1. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at the Bonham ISD Administration Office at 6:00 p.m. by Lance Davis. A quorum was present.

Members present for the meeting: Lance Davis, Chad Burnett, Monica Kissling, Jim Simpson, Press Cox, Sean Floyd and Dr. Marvin Beaty, Superintendent.

Member Absent: None

3. Recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week

Lance Davis thanked the teachers of Bonham ISD for their hard work and dedication. Monica Kissling added it has been a hard year of change and applauded the teachers and administrators.

4. Action Item - Consider approval of action with respect to adopting an order canvassing election returns for Board of Trustee Election Votes for the May 11, 2013 Bonham ISD Board of Trustees Election

Motion made by Press Cox and seconded by Sean Floyd to approve the Order Declaring Results of Regular Trustee Election and to approve the Order Declaring Results to approve canvassing the election returns for Bonham ISD Bond Election.

Motion carried 6/0.

Certification of Election was signed by Lance Davis, Board President.

Statement of Elected Officer was signed by Lance Davis and Press Cox.

5. Board Member Recognition - Press Cox

Lance Davis recognized Press Cox for 6 years of Board service. Press Cox thanked the Board of Trustees and recounted his journey.

6. Oath of New Board Members

Given to Dawn Nichols, Place 3, Jim Simpson, Place 4, and Todd Orsak, Place 5, sworn in by Notary Debra Horton.

7. Election of Board Officers 2013-2014

Monica Kissling nominated Lance Davis for President and Chad Burnett seconded. There were no other nominations; therefore Lance Davis accepted the position of President.

Chad Burnett nominated Jim Simpson of Vice-President. There were no other nominations; therefore Jim Simpson accepted the position for Vice-President.

Jim Simpson nominated Monica Kissling for Secretary. There were no other nominations; therefore Monica Kissling accepted the position of Secretary.

8. School Board Meeting Calendar

Board meetings will remain the third Monday of each month.

9. Adjournment

Motion made by Todd Orsak and seconded by Chad Burnett to adjourn at 6:23 p.m.
