On May 12, 2013, the Bonham First Pentecostal Church of God had a debt free celebration with a “Mortgage Burning” and luncheon.   District Bishop Roy Carrico from Corsicana, presided.  The former church at 319 East 3rd was destroyed by fire on 8/21/2004.

Afterwards the congregation met at several locations including a park, funeral home, school, and a store building in downtown Bonham.  Later, they purchased 5 acres on HWY 121 S and began a building program.  With a beautiful new building, the congregation feels they have been through the fire but they never lost the faith or desire to win lost souls for the Kingdom.

The church was founded by Rev. J.W. and Norma Holcomb in 1954.  After his death Rev. Norma Holcomb remained as Pastor until 1996.  A few months later in 1997, Rev. Troy and Cathy Miles were voted in as pastors of the church.
