Anna, Texas -- Services for Mary Evans, 83, of Anna, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church in Anna with Dr. Raymond Horne officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, Texas.

Mrs. Evens passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ. She was born August 24, 1929 in Van Alstyne, Texas to Arthur and Belie Green Harris. She married Virgil Evens January 26, 1946 in Van Alstyne. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She served as manager of the Anna Snap Center for 13 years and was a homemaker. Mary was a devoted wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil Evans of Anna. Son Roy Dean Evans and wife Ann of Royce City, Texas. Daughter, Linda Brown and her husband Ronny of Anna, Texas. Daughter, Mary Rollins of Anna, Texas. Sister, Nelda Jean Ragsdill of Waco, Texas. 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, son, Timmy Evans, grandson Brad Evans, sisters, Lillian Burk, Helen Taylor, Dorothy Young, Ruby Hughes and Irene Harris. 2 brothers, Jack and Roy Harris.
