July 1 is target start date

In the matter of just a few weeks, TAPS Public Transit has been designated to manage and operate the public transportation system for both Collin County's rural areas and in the City of McKinney.

Last Wednesday, the TAPS Board of Directors approved a plan to put TAPS buses on the streets of Collin County beginning as early as July 1 of this year.

Brad Underwood, TAPS CEO and Executive Director, said his agency is ready to deliver on the high expectations of county and city leaders. "TAPS was a failing system when the current management team took over operations four years ago," said Underwood. "Today, we are proud of how far we have come and the level of service we provide."
