Forty citizens of Bonham, Fannin County, and North Texas are touring Italy on a wine and cuisine tour. This is part of a long series of trips organized by Bonhi grad Don Dodson.
Those participating in the trip include Doyce and Janice Taylor, Talmadge and Ruth Ann Moore, John and Kay Burnett, Donna Griffis and Dan Maynes, Anita Hershey and Bob Furhman, Mike and Janet Weber, Sally and John Delk, David and Teresa Stapp, Bob and Judy Schlosberg, Ronnie and Brenda Atnip, Raymond and Alexis Clark, Linda Trout Carter, Margie Holmsley, Juanita Burnett and Cathy Jamieson, David and Judy Conejo, Allen and Becky Wilson, DC and Linda Weiss, Don and Carol Dodson, and Lora Beth Vestal.
Many in the group went to various places on the pre-trip which included Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terra, and the Isle of Capri, Pompeii, and Switzerland. Lora Beth Vestal attended an Italian cooking school before the trip.
The regular trip began in Milan followed by an extended stay on Lake Como. George Clooney has a villa on the lake and many of the ladies on the excursion have reported " sightings."

From Lake Como the group will drive to the Venice area where they will tour Venice and the region. They will also tour historic Padova. The group will stay in a former palace while here.
The trip then continues into Tuscany where they will also stay in a former palace and will visit famous wine estates in the region, including Chianti. A variety of Tuscan hill towns will be visited for several days.

The trip concludes with a visit to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, before the return to Milan. Some of the group will visit the grand Dolomites in the Italian Alps, while others will visit other places including Rome.
