Meals on Wheels of Texoma (MOWOT) announced today that it will be holding Mayors For Meals Day as a part of its March For Meals campaign.
"We are excited about having our local elected officials participate in our Mayors for Meals Day event," said Greg Pittman, Executive Director for MOWOT. "I am proud to announce that thirteen elected officials from Grayson County will be participating in Mayors for Meals this year. Their participation sets an example for the rest of our community. It takes all of us to win the fight against senior hunger."
Mayors for Meals is just one component of March For Meals, a national campaign during the month of March, initiated by the Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA), which seeks to raise awareness of senior hunger and to encourage action on the part of the local community.
