Gene Lenore to speak at The Sherman Museum's February Lecture

SHERMAN, Texas —The Sherman Museum today announced that Gene Lenore will be the guest lecturer at the museum’s February 22, 2013 monthly Lunch Lecture series event. Mr. Lenore is an award winning journalist and filmmaker and will speak on “Building the Denison Dam.”  The free event will begin at noon and last until 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Lenore spent nearly three decades working for newspapers, magazines, radio, and television stations in Texas, Arizona and Washington, D.C. While in Washington, D.C., he was a radio news writer for the Voice of America and National Public Radio.

Mr. Lenore established a Sherman-based video production company in the 1990s. The company, now operating as Gene Lenore Productions, received a prestigious Telly Award for a video production produced for the Sherman Independent School District. He has also written or co-written five television documentary programs produced by Fiveson Entertainment for the Smithsonian Channel. It was during his time working with
Fiveson Entertainment that he conceived the idea of a documentary on the building of Denison Dam and the creation of Lake Texoma.

All friends of the Museum and interested parties are invited to attend. Attendees are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch.
