During halftime activities at the Fannindel Homecoming Saturday afternoon, September 29, the Fannindel Independent School District honored Superintendent H.L. Milton by naming the gymnasium as the H.L. Milton Sports Complex.
Mr. Milton accompanied by wife, Patsy, had been escorted onto Bishop Field as part of homecoming half time activities along with the classes of '62, '72, '82, '92, and '02 attendees. There he was told of the honor and was given a commemorative plaque.

Attendees and honorees were invited to make their way to the front of the Sports Complex where the new name on the building was unveiled by school board president Gwen Beeler and the rest of the board.
Mr. Milton graduated from Ladonia High School in 1949. He went to Ladonia in 1959 as elementary principal and science teacher. He became the Fannindel High School principal when Ladonia and Pecan Gap consolidated in 1960. He left Fannindel in 1979 and worked at Honey Grove ISD for 20 years. He became superintendent at Fannindel in 2006 where he continues to serve.
Members of the Fannindel School Board include Gwen Beeler, Scott Franklin, Mandy Duplechan, Charlene Crosby, Joe Erwin, Marva Scott, and Mary Davis.
