Sunday, June 10, arrival morning.  Our private luxury bus will meet us at the airport, where we will leave for historic Assisi, home to St. Francis, and a beautiful hill village in the Umbria region.

On arrival in Assisi you will have time to explore on your own, perhaps go to the Fortress or the famous cathedral.  In the evening we’ll have our Welcome Dinner.

Monday, June 11, today we have all day to explore this beautiful and fascinating village on top of a mountain.  The most interesting sites will be pointed out to you.

Tuesday, June 12,we depart for San Marino, the world’s oldest republic, and one of the most unique places on earth.

First, you will be struck by the beauty, looking one way onto the Adriatic Sea, the other into the Italian valley far below.  Here you can walk the alleyways, tour the famous castles and fortresses that hang from the cliffs.

Wednesday, June 13, only one day in San Marino is not enough, so we have the entire day here.

In the evening our bus will take us to the San Marino cooperative, where you will get to see grapes and olives being processed into wine and olive oil.

Thursday, June 14 today we leave for Tuscany and Florence, the home of the Renaissance.

On arrival, we’ll explore some of the famous sites, and you will be given the opportunity to see the city illuminated at night.

Friday, June 15, we begin with a morning guided tour, and in the afternoon you will have as free time to explore on-your-own.

Saturday, June 16, today we visit the famous Tuscan hill town of San Gimignano, famous for its 14 medieval towers, which are still standing.

Here you will find a local ice crème store, voted the best in Italy.  The variety of gelato flavors alone will make your mouth water.

What would be a trip to Italy without a visit to Rome, and tonight that is where we will lay our head, in a 4 star hotel, centrally located so you can walk to the main sites, day or night.

Perhaps you will want to spend a day touring the Vatican, and St. Peters basilica.  Yes, it will take at least one day.  On another day, maybe you will tour inside the coliseum, or visit the Forum, the site from where the Romans ruled from Africa to Scandinavia.  In any case, complete information will be provided to you so that you can make those decisions about what most interests you, from the catacombs to a river evening cruise.  Maybe you will want to take a day excursion to Pompeii, which was destroyed by Mt. Vesuvius in 1279.

Tuesday, June 19,  and Wednesday, June 20 are also free days.  Don’t worry, you will have more to do and see than time permits. Rome: There are many websites for outstanding photos of Rome.  Check them out. It is truly an amazing city.

Policies: This is the sixth trip for Bonham connections, but the first for families.
