Bonham's own Boy Scout Troop 50 will perform a Flag Retirement Ceremony beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 at Timber Creek Campgrounds, north of Bonham between Hwy 78 and FM 273. 

According to the United States Flag Code, "The Flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem of display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning."

Boy Scout Troop 50 would like to invite everyone who has an old flag and wants to honor it by retiring it in a dignified manner to please contact Scout Master Frank Orr at: 903-816-1477.

Directions: From Bonham, take Hwy 78 north to the Boyd Community. Just north of Boyd Baptist Church, turn right (east) and the camp is approximately one mile on the right.  The camp has a metal sign over the entryway.  If you get to FM 273, you have gone too far.
