Sam Rayburn High School Class of 2012 Honor Graduates
Sam Rayburn ISD would like to announce Sydney Davis and Hannah Shirey as the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the graduating class of 2012.

Sydney Kathryn Davis is the Valedictorian of the 2012 graduating class of Sam Rayburn High School with an overall GPA of 4.137. Sydney is the daughter of Terri Davis and the late Mike Davis. She played basketball and softball four years, gathering numerous honors, including All-State basketball and softball, as well as Academic All-State in basketball. She was selected All-Texomaland in basketball in 2010, 2011, and 2012, and in softball in 2010 and 2011. She was District MVP in basketball and Athlete of the Year at Sam Rayburn High School her sophomore and senior year. 

Sydney was an all district 1st team selection in basketball and softball her junior year. She was on the A-honor Roll, a class officer, and a member of Beta Club and FCA for four years. Sydney will be attending Texas A&M University in College Station, where she will obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

Hannah Ianthe Shirey is the Salutatorian of the 2012 graduating class of Sam Rayburn High School. Hannah is graduating with an overall GPA of 4.00888. She is the daughter of Karen and Carlos Tobias, and Steven Shirey. She has participated in One-Act Play four years, and has received five All-Star Cast awards, as well as Best Actress award while attending the Stephen F. Austin Summer Theatre Workshop.

Hannah will be attending the University of North Texas in Denton, majoring in Art History and minoring in Theatre. Hannah plans to one day be a Broadway star.

Baccalaureate services for the 2012 graduating class will be on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. at Telephone Baptist Church in Telephone, Texas. Commencement exercises will be on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
