FORT WORTH—The Kimbell Art Museum presents the film “Gigi” (1958) at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, in the Museum auditorium. The film is the third program in the Kimbell’s free film series Impressions of Paris and is approximately 115 minutes long.

This film series is offered in conjunction with the special exhibition The Age of Impressionism: Great French Paintings from the Clark, and in partnership with the Lone Star Film Society.

In this charming musical set in fin-de-siécle Paris, Leslie Caron starts out as a precocious tomboy whose carefree ways interfere with her family’s designs to groom her to become an elegant courtesan. When her friendship with an old family friend—the wealthy, handsome, and somewhat blasé Gaston—takes several unexpected turns, it throws everyone’s plans into a rapturous, entertaining tailspin.

Performance highlights include Maurice Chevalier as the aging boulevardier and Eva Gabor as Gigi’s worldly great aunt.
