On Saturday, May 5, Bonham will once again celebrate the heritage of all Fannin County not only with the traditional day-long extravaganza downtown, but also with historic recreation events at Ft. Inglish and a garden tractor pull near Powder Creek Park on Old Ector Road!

In fact, one event is so big that Fannin County is not big enough to hold it.  The Motorcycle Fun Run runs from Bonham both south and north through scenic Fannin County and then spills over into Lamar County before returning to Bonham!  Riders are guaranteed a really refreshing ride on a fine morning in May.

Registration for this event, which costs only $10, starts at 8 a.m. sharp at the southeast corner of the square in downtown Bonham, very near the statue of James Butler Bonham, and concludes when the first motorcycle riders start departing at 9 a.m.  Riders will then follow a circuitous route to Dial, then north to Tigertown and Direct in Lamar County, then back to Riverby and Monkstown.  The route will bring the riders back through Carson and Lamasco to Bonham.  Along this route will be check points and rest stops for riders, and all riders should make it back to Bonham by 1 p.m., when the winner and place finishers will receive their prizes.

So bring your bike or chopper or Hog out of the garage and pony up your $10 to join us for a fun event.  You’ll even be back in time to see the Pinnit motorcycle jumper take his great leap in the afternoon!
