SHERMAN, TEXAS—The Austin College Department of Music will present its Spring Choral Concert on Sunday, May 6, at 3 p.m. in Wynne Chapel on the Austin College campus. The event is free and open to the public.
This concert will feature the Austin College A Cappella Choir and Austin College Chorale as well as the Quartette and Consort. The concert will include a wide variety of music ranging from traditional classical music to spirituals and avant grade pieces. The choirs at Austin College are directed by, Dr. Wayne Crannell, associate professor of music, who is assisted by Nick Timmerman, a 2011 Austin College graduate currently involved in graduate study through the Austin Teacher Program.
The Quartette and Consort will sing a selection of a cappella pop music, including music composed and arranged by Consort members senior Erin Slade and junior Evan Runyon.
