The project limits for SH 78 begin at SH 56 in Bonham and extends south for 10 ½ miles to SH 11 in Bailey.
The work to be done will consist of widening the subgrade, base treatment, adding flexible base, with a two-course asphaltic surface treatment and new pavement markings. The contractor has been granted 216 working days to complete the $3,660,234.53 project. The contractor will began setting construction signs May 2 and the contract is anticipated to be completed by May, 2013.
Only one lane of highway will be closed to traffic once work begins during daylight hours only. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes whenever possible.

The traveling public is requested to observe signs, barricades, and flaggers, to approach work zones cautiously with reduced speed, and to follow the pilot car.
