The Dodd City Lady Hornets jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back in a 23-4 bi-district series opening win over the Bland Lady Tigers.

The Lady Hornets were up 2-0 when Dodd City blew the game open by scoring seven runs in the top of the third inning and adding nine runs in the top of the fourth.

A bevy of Dodd City batters turned in outstanding performances. Keeshia Thompson had a 4-for-4 night at the plate with three RBIs, Christi Petti went 3-for-4 and drove in six runs, Misty Goodin was also 3-for-4, while Katelynn Woodlee, Jenna Wallace, Briann Hilliard and Jacqueline McGehee all collected two hits each. 

The winner of this series will take on Hubbard in the area round.
