Helen Marie Kirby

Gunter, Texas – Helen Marie Kirby, age 63 of Gunter, TX passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at her home. She was born on March 1, 1948 in Sherman, Texas to Leonard and Francis (Risner) Crawford. Helen married Tom Kirby on March 12, 1968 in Sherman, TX. She worked as a nurse’s aid and was a member of the Assembly of God.

Helen is survived by her three daughters, Stacey Kelm and husband, Todd of Rowlett, TX, Angela Tucker and husband, Terry of Howe, TX and Sandra Arrington and husband, Jeffery Bryant of Howe, TX; nine grandchildren, Thomas and Heather Walker of Sherman, TX, Jonthan Walker of Howe, TX, Andy Rains, serving in the U.S. Navy in Florida, Michael Smith, Shane Tucker, Sean Arrington, Charlotte Smith, Jaycee Bryant and Kaylyn Bryant, all of Howe, TX; one great-grandson, Hayden Walker of Sherman, TX; one brother, Alvin Crawford and wife, Barbara of McKinney, TX; four sisters, Irene Maine and husband, Ronald of Gunter, TX, Anita Maddox and husband, Jim of Marianna, AR, Kathy Crawford of Denton, TX and Shelia Latham and husband, Jesse of Gunter, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Kirby, twin sons, Ronnie and Donnie Smith Kirby and her mother and father, Francis and Leonard Crawford.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne with Jesse Latham and Doyle Lives officiating. Interment will follow at the Van Alstyne Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne. The family will be gathered at 305 W. Oak St. in Gunter on Sunday following the service.
