Ravenna, Texas -- Graveside services for Donnie Paul Avery age 65 of Ravenna, TX will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Gum Springs Cemetery Pavilion. 
Serving as pallbearers will be Derrall Avery, Ricky Avery, Chasen Capehart, Ellis McConnell, Larry McConnell, and Keith Cline.
Mr. Avery passed away Saturday February 25, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Avery was born July 5, 1946 in Bonham to parents Paul and Devola McConnell Avery. He married Reba McCleary on January 22, 1972 in Telephone, Texas. Mr. Avery had worked for the City of Ft. Worth, Texas for over 10 years, then VPG of Bonham, a propane truck driver for Crittenden Propane for 18 years, and 5 years as ranch foreman for Mission Valley Ranch in the Carson community.
Mr. Avery’s hobbies included flying homing pigeons, racing pigeons, fishing, hunting, and had a real love for flying remote controlled airplanes.
Survivors include his wife Reba Avery of Ravenna, stepson Michael Capehart of Fairbury, Nebraska, step grandchildren Chasen Capehart of Bonham, Kelsea Capehart of Ivanhoe, Britt Traweek of Denison. His father, Paul Avery of Carson, sister, Lue Crank of Ravenna, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 1 great-niece. Mr. Avery was preceded in death by his mother Devola Avery, and sister Patsy Watson.
Family visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 27 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.
