KINGSVILLE, Texas - Southeastern posted a 2-1 day to wrap up the Texas A&M-Kingsville Classic after picking up wins over Tarleton State and Southern Arkansas, before falling to Midwestern State in the finale on Saturday.

The Savage Storm tallied a 3-1 win over the TexAnns and followed that with a 9-0 run-rule win in five innings over SAU. The Storm would drop the final contest to No. 20 MSU, 11-5.

SE will be back in action on Feb. 12 when it swings through Laredo, Texas, to play a twinbill against Texas-A&M-International with first pitch set for 11 a.m.

SE picked up its second win of the season against TSU thanks to Kelsey Reding's best pitching performance of the young season, tossing 6.1 innings and allowing one run on four hits with four strikeouts. The win was her first of the season, while Audra Rhudy came in to record the final two outs of the game to record her first save.

Sam Vrska posted a 2-for-3 outing with a run scored and an RBI, while Whitney Hamilton added a hit and an RBI.

The TexAnns scored first with a first-inning home run, but the Storm got an answer in the second inning to tie the score on an RBI double from Hamilton.

The Storm would add two more in the third inning when Vrska doubled home Kaija Morris and later scored on a wild pitch to fashion the final of 3-1.

In the second game of the day, SE was held off the board in the first inning, but tallied runs in each of the next four to pull away with the 9-0 run-rule win.

Christa Johnson posted a 3-for-4 outing with a home run and a pair of doubles en route to four RBI.

Paige Priest and Katie Campbell each added a pair of hits, while four others posted hits in the effort.

Jacee Bennett picked up the win in a complete-game shutout, tossing 5.0 innings and allowing just a pair of hits and striking out three.

The Storm took a 3-0 lead in the second inning when Dakota Palmer reached on a dropped third strike on what would have been the third out of the inning, and while SAU tried to corral the ball, two runs would cross, followed by Palmer who circled the bases in the confusion.

Campbell would single home the first run of the third inning and would be followed by a two-run homer by Johnson to mount a 6-0 lead.

That would reach 7-0 in the fourth inning when Priest singled home Vrska, and the Storm would add its final two runs in the fifth on a two-run double by Johnson to set the final of 9-0.

The finale, however, would leave a sour taste in the mouth of the Storm.

MSU took a 2-0 lead with a run in the first and another in the second.

SE would knot the game at 2-2 with run-scoring hits from Courtne St. Clair and Vrska.

MSU, however, would add six runs in the top of the fifth inning to leave the Storm trailing 8-2.

That deficit would grow to 10-2 in the sixth, but the Storm would answer with three runs on RBI hits from Campbell and Hamilton to cut the deficit to 10-5.

The Mustangs would add another run in the seventh, however, and SE would have no answer to fashion he final of 11-5.

Johnson and Priest each had two-hit outings, with Hamilton driving in a team-best two runs.

In the circle, Rhudy suffered the loss after allowing seven runs, six earned, on nine hits with a pair of K's over 4.1 innings of work.

Bennett would finish the contest with 2.2 innings of work, allowing four runs on six hits.
