What a wonderful surprise the Bonham Rotary Club had at their February 8 meeting. Their District Governor, Bud McBrayer, paid an unexpected visit. Everyone welcomed Bud and was glad to visit with him. Bud has visited the Bonham Rotary Club many times and said he has always had good memories here. Bud and his wife Peg reside in the Plano area and he is a member of the Plano Sunrise Rotary Club.

Rotarian John Farris, who is Chairperson Elect for the Bonham Area Chamber of Commerce, asked Milton Glenn to speak on behalf of the Chamber. Milton is the newly elected Chairperson of the Bonham Area Chamber of Commerce and he spoke very candidly about the opportunities and direction of the Chamber.

A big emphasis was on unification and, not only within the Chamber, but with all the entities that strive to make Bonham a better place to work and live. He said that all the board members and himself are here to serve the businesses of Bonham and that he sees the Chamber Board working in the direction that the members want it to go.

He referred to Rotary’s The 4-Way Test (of the things we think, say or do), 1) Is it the TRUTH? 2) Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3) Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? and 4) Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? Milton stated that the last one (Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned) is one that the Chamber is definitely striving for.

Milton and his wife, Diane, live in Bonham and own AerSats, a leading provider of Hughes Satellites. Their business is located in the Turner Business Complex at 2501 N. Center St. in Bonham and their phone number is 903-583-7181.

The Bonham Rotary Club meets every Wednesday at 12:00 noon at the Family Life Center.
