The Gunter Library and Museum invites you to attend a three part series on genealogy and family research. Dale Rideout, an experienced researcher and teacher, will present the seminar on Saturdays on February 18, February 25, and March 3 at the Gunter Library located at 110 S. State Highway 289 #4, from 10:30-12:30. There will be a materials charge of $10.00 for each participant.

If you are new to family research this is your opportunity to learn the first steps in getting started using both Internet sources and printed resources. In honor of Black History Month, the library will present the film, For Love of Liberty, the Story of America's Black Patriots. There will be two showings, Tuesday February 21, from 7:00-8:00 and Saturday February 25, from 2:00-3:00. The DVD cover reports "From the Revolution to the Civil War, from the World Wars to present day fighting in Afghanistan, this inspiring epic saga of African American military sacrifices, dramatically and for all time sets the record straight." The film includes appearances of Halle Berry, Colin Powell, and Morgan Freeman. The 3-Disc collection will be available for check out after February 25.
The Brown Bag Book Discussion meets at the Gunter library on February 22 at 12:00 noon. Bring your lunch and join us as we discuss The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson. Let us know if the fourth Wednesday of each month is inconvenient for you and we will adjust our meeting dates.
