Trenton -- The Trenton Tigers improved to 8-1 in District 17-A and held onto their share of the district lead with a 35-point victory over the Wolfe City Wolves.

Trenton had a 21-10 lead over Wolfe City going into the second period and a 41-33 advantage at the half.

The Tigers controlled the action in the second half, outscoring the Wolves 38-11 for a 79-44 win.

Trenton and Bland have identical 8-1 records atop the district standings.  The Tigers are now 16-10 on the season.

"It was a great team effort tonight," said Trenton head coach Braughn Curtis. "The boys played well."

Slater Stone finished with 15 points to lead Trenton, Bailey Burks threw in 13 points, Lane Henderson knocked down nine points, Dylan McCarly and Blake Wilson both had eight points, Tyler Lewis and Alex Meyer each scored seven, JJ Foreman put up five points, Wade McCroan finished with four points and Gage Berrios tallied three points for the Tigers.

Wolfe City's Hunter Bostick led all scorers with 17 points, Cody Harbin had seven points, Chaffin Andrews scored six, with Cody Horton, Justin Wilkinson and Tanner Bostick all chipping in four points apiece and Malik Gaffney tossing in two points.

Trenton's final three district games include a game at Blue Ridge on Tuesday, February 7 followed by a contest at Sam Rayburn on Friday, February 10 and then wrap up district action by hosting Celeste on Tuesday, February 14.
