It’s a Friday night; you would expect most teenagers to be at a party or at the movies. But if you were to walk into the Crisis Center you would have seen about twenty or more teens talking, laughing, enjoying themselves. With all the tragedies going on in today’s world, I think that it is very important that we teens be around each other and support each other.

That night I met a lot of new people and got to know people that I already knew better. They all had different personalities; some were shy, some were outgoing, but we all had something in common. We took some time out of our schedules to attend a get together and talk about what is going on in our lives. We played ice breakers, watched a movie, ate pizza, and got to meet a lot of neat people.

The movie we watched was The Blind Side; for those of you who have not yet got the chance to watch it, it’s an amazing story. It is a very inspirational story about a wealthy family who take in a less fortunate boy and they end up adopting him. He turns out to be a very talented football player who has a very soft heart.

Nevertheless, it is a very good movie. Most movies are easy to catch on to the moral of the story, but for me this one is a little more difficult. The moral of the story to me is that everyone in life has a purpose. Our leader stated that she loves this movie because it shows how someone who had all the odds against him, but still chose good decisions.  In this case, the wealthy family is to help a less fortunate boy. They not only made a difference in his life, but he made a difference in the family’s life.

Now you may be confused what all this had to do with each other, but this night was intended to get to know new people, have fun, and forget about the worries of the world along with a great message.

This get together was brought organized by the wonderful Megan Massey, delightful Ursula Hansen and other magnificent adults. Megan is the leader of The Challenge PEACE Project. The PEACE Project is a mission that helps young adults with their problems and to help “friend” us! We try to get together once a month and have an activity. I can honestly say I have fun.

I have learned so much that I don’t think I would have learned if it weren’t for the Peace Project. As of right now we are a very small group; it would be awesome if we could get it to grow. Go visit our Facebook page. Hope to see you at the next event!
