Commerce, Texas -- Northeast Texas Children’s Museum in Commerce will offer free admission on Super Saturday, January 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Admission will be waived on this day to thank families in the area for their support. The museum is ranked among the top attractions in northeast Texas.

“Our Super Saturday provides an opportunity for visits from families who have not visited the Museum previously. It is always exciting for us to show the museum to first-time visitors,” stated Sharline Freeman, Executive Director. “It is also a great day for our regular visitors to save a little money.”

“Education is a part of all of the exhibits. However, the creativity and excitement of each exhibit makes learning occur without the child’s awareness that this is happening.” said Jalinna Jones, board president. “We hope that families will take advantage of Super Saturday to become acquainted with the Children’s Museum.”

Visitors can join their children in participating in over thirty play areas. New exhibits include one showing the benefits of exercise recently donated by the Texoma Healthcare Foundation. A special table for crafts will also be available on Super Saturday.

At the Northeast Texas Children’s Museum little ones engage in creative and imaginative play as they learn a variety of real-world lessons such as sharing with a younger brother.

Although still under construction, a new exhibit sponsored by Atmos features a wall that has manipulatives that stick to Velcro® has been very popular with children. Also, the KidSteam Train is still in the Roundhouse, but it will be return in March.

Children can pretend to be a honeybee or a variety of other roles in the dress-up area of Northeast Texas Children’s Museum.
