Gunter, TX – Excited shouts of “Bingo!” will echo through the Gunter High School Commons, 1102 N. 8th St., 5:30-7:30 Saturday, Feb. 4, as event goers vie for dozens of prizes in a fundraiser hosted by the Gunter ISD Foundation Trust (GIFT).
Players can purchase a Bingo card for $1 or a discounted pass for all games. Bingo winners will be able to select from a variety of prizes, including gift cards, gift baskets, jewelry and more. One special round also will be played for a Kindle Fire, cover and iTunes gift card. The last game of the evening will be for a Westinghouse 40-inch ultra-slim LED HDTV. Grand prize game cards are not included in the bingo pass and can be purchased for $5 each. Winners of earlier games will automatically receive one grand prize bingo card.
“We thought a big screen TV would be perfect for Super Bowl Sunday the following day,” said Cynthia Bruner, GIFT president. “We hope this fundraiser really ‘scores’ with the public and we raise a lot of money to help our students and teachers.”
A concession stand staffed by Gunter ISD Superintendent Kevin Worthy and other volunteers will feed hungry Bingo players.
Proceeds benefit students and teachers of Gunter ISD. A 501(c)(3) organization, GIFT has given away more than $380,000, including 132 student scholarships, 111 campus grants and 31 employee scholarships, as well as donated more than $63,000 to the Kerfoot Trust, which awards a scholarship to each graduate of Gunter High School.
