At the Jan. 11 meeting of the Bonham Rotary Club, Sherilyn Carpenter who is the City Secretary for the City of Leonard gave a program on the technology changes the city has made. Sherilyn stated that she has learned how to build servers, etc...things that she had no idea she would ever be doing.

In the last three years the city has gone from using three old computers that were not even connected to a state-of-the-art computer service that has reduced the employee’s workload by two-thirds. This gives the employees more time to do other things associated with their jobs that they just did not have the time to do before.

Sherilyn came from the “corporate world” and said that working for a municipality was so different, but she enjoys her job and her family’s new lifestyle here in Fannin County.   

The Bonham Rotary Club meets every Wednesday at 12:00 noon at the Family Life Center.
