Pilot Point -- The Gainesville Lady Leopards improved to 2-0 in District 9-3A with a 12-point win at Pilot Point.
The Lady Leopards had the upper hand in the first quarter and Gainesville led 17-11 going into the second period, but Pilot Point managed to trim their deficit down to three points at the half.
Pilot Point only trailed by two points going into the fourth quarter before Gainesville took over. The Lady Leopards outscored Pilot Point 18-8 in the finale to post a 12-point win on the road, 54-42.
Ariannah Kemp knocked down 19 points to pace the Gainesville offense, Kiarah Manuel put up 11 points, Zhanice Lane had 10 points, Annette Kirk scored seven, Brittany Royal finished with five points and Destini Flowers dropped in two points.
Watson led Pilot Point with 19 points, Barrett had seven points, Sheeder and Dunlap both scored six, while McElroy and Ray each chipped in two points.
