Gainesville -- The Melissa Lady Cardinals poured in 28 points in the opening period and had four players finish in double figures in a 67-44 win over the Gainesville Lady Leopards.
Melissa led 28-13 after the first quarter and 38-18 at intermission. The second half was more competitive, but the early scoring explosion gave Melissa a 23-point win on the road.
Gainesville's Kiarah Manuel scored a game-high 22 points and Ariannah Kemp finished with 15 points. Destini Flowers dropped in three points, with Annette Kirk and Kaitlynn Romans both tossing in two points.
