Taxes, support for the Permanent School Fund, bonds for water projects, pardons, and terms of office for elected officials are among the important issues that Texans will address in November 8 Constitutional Amendment Election. LWV-Texas urges all registered voters to cast an informed ballot in this important election. Early voting extends from October 24 to November 4; Election Day is November 8.
To help prepare voters to cast an informed ballot, LWV-Texas’ nonpartisan Voters Guide is available in both English and Spanish at Bonham Public Library, 305 E 5th Street. The Voters Guide is also available on the League’s website, www.lwvtexas.org,in both English and Spanish. An audio version is available on request.

The League’s Voters Guide provides the official ballot language, a nontechnical explanation, and unbiased arguments “for” and “against” each of the ten proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution. The Voters Guide also contains important information on voter photo ID requirements scheduled to take effect in 2012.
For 90 years the League has been agitating and educating for informed public participation in government and believes there is no more important form of participation than informed voting!
