Pottsboro Frontier Day is fast approaching! Saturday September 24 to be exact! And the Pottsboro Area Chamber of Commerce is busy making preparations for the annual celebration to be held in Friendship Park (next to the Chamber office – 615 Hwy 120 East) from 9 AM – 5 PM . Frontier Day commemorates the Shawnee Trail Riders as they drove their cattle from Dallas through Grayson County where the Preston Trail crossed the Red River.
Each year Friendship Park is filled with hundreds of people who come out to shop, eat and enjoy the entertainment. Attention all Arts, Crafts and Food Vendors!! This year’s celebration will have a variety of activities for the family. The Parade will start at 10 a.m. and will be organized by Rev. Bobby Hancock of Georgetown Baptist Church. To participate in the parade, contact Rev. Hancock at (903) 786-2233 or email him at: bobby@georgetownbaptist.net.
The kids love the Carnival when it comes to town on Frontier Day! This year kids can participate in “Wristband Nights” on Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23. $15 buys unlimited rides on Thursday and Friday evenings from 6 – 10 PM. On Saturday, carnival rides can be purchased by individual tickets only.
Check out this year’s entertainment by the Classic Recall band which will perform on the Gazebo between 2 – 5 PM on Saturday.
