Bonham -- The two motocross stunt riders flying 35 feet into the air Thursday had one thing in common with the Finley-Oates Elementary students seated safely in the distance: every day presents another test.  For the stunt riders, if they have studied, practiced and have all their facts right, it is a test they can walk away from.

The high-flying guys from Pinn-it Motocross gave a lesson in aerodynamics and physics, all the while providing elementary school teachers with an effective motivational tool as the school year draws to a close.

"Don't try this at home," Daniel Weeks warned any aspiring daredevils in the crowd and then Weeks and his co-jumper, Dino, gave the students a show to remember.

The two stunt riders packed dozens of difficult jumps into a few short minutes as students cheered.

This was a benefit performance.  Weeks said he became inspired to do more events such as this one after giving a similar performance at a Shriners Hospital in South Dakota and seeing the kids' faces light up.

"I want to do more for the community," remarked Weeks, a former salutatorian at Dodd City High School, after visiting with the students and posing for photos with several classes.

Students, teachers and administrators all seemed grateful for the high-octane exhibition.

"We used this opportunity as a motivational tool," explained Finley-Oates principal Mary Lou Fox, "and the kids have been very excited about this."

They aren't alone. People in Bonham are very excited about the opportunity to watch breathtaking jumps by the Pinn-it Motocross Stunt Team in historic downtown Bonham during Heritage Day Celebration July 23. The motocross jumps will take place at 9:00 a.m., noon and 3:00 p.m. on Heritage Day.

On August 27, motocross fans will make their way to the annual Pinn-it Bash which is held south of Dodd City.  The Bash attracts top riders from across the world.
