Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s annual Faculty-Staff Recognition Banquet was held Monday night in the Visual and Performing Arts Center on campus.
The event honored and recognized a number of faculty and staff members for outstanding contributions to the University. Joining Southeastern president Larry Minks on the program as presenters were Vicki Hudson, Max McClendon, Dr. Ernest Sturch, Kristie Luke, Dr. Kenneth Chinn, Dr. Bryon Clark, Liz McCraw, and Teriki Hicks.
The banquet was sponsored by the Coca-Cola Enterprises Bottling Companies.
Two new awards were presented this year – the Professor of the Year award, which went to Dr. Kitty Campbell of the John Massey School of Business, and the Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognized Dr. Gordon Eggleton, who recently retired as a chemistry professor.
Campbell, professor of management and marketing, joined the SE faculty in 1997. She earned an Ed.D. at Texas A&M – Commerce, her master’s at Southeastern, and her bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M University.
Eggleton joined the University in 1971. He was very active and visible on campus, directing the Honors Program and the Curriculum Contest, and serving as chapter advisor of the American Chemical Society. Eggleton earned his Ph.D. and master’s at the University of Iowa, and his bachelor’s degree at Iowa State University.
