From the Desk of Judy Spence: Teen Council book review: Jeffrey Burwell read Sacred Scars by Kathleen Duey. He recommends the book to anyone who likes magic. In the book, “A girl attempts to save boys that have been captured and ends up losing her memory and living for 200 years, while a boy in the future plots to take down the magicians with the students.” Jeffrey says he learned “that society, no matter what, always follows the same cycle of destruction.” The unique thing about this book was “two different points of view in two different time periods allow the reader to see the true menace of the book.”
