So what’s up with the ‘Prayer is America’s Only Hope’ signs? Yes, I know this is a fundraising effort and am familiar with the verse of Scripture  – 2 Chronicles 7:14; a verse some Christian leaders feel is misunderstood and misused – printed on the signs. But really. ONLY? Irritating. Prayer is wonderful. At the same time, how about using some of those God-given talents and learned skills to help make America a better place?

If you view America as a cesspool maybe you should look for some new friends, get out more, broaden your reading, listening and viewing habits, volunteer more and do more. I admit my glass is always at least half full, but in my America I am constantly faced with compassion, caring, generosity, humor, great conversations and a ‘we can do more to make it better,’ attitude.
