Roberta Strickland, 88, longtime resident of Honey Grove left her earthly home for her heavenly reward Friday, August, 27, 2010. She passed away at Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Chapel in Honey Grove. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove. Rev. Terry Cunningham, Rev. Charles Scarbrough and Mr. Kenneth Wolfe will be the officiants.

Pallbearers will be Seth McNeal, Nathan Bryant, Michael Irvin, Jeremy Strickland, Quentin Newhouse and Stanley Bryant.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday, August 29, 2010.

Roberta Mavis Strickland was born Dec. 14, 1921 in Monkstown, Texas to parents, William M. Gann and Emily Katherine Wells Gann. She married Elmo Arrond Strickland Oct. 7, 1939 in Honey Grove. He passed away Jan. 27, 1997.

She was a homemaker and for many years she supported her husband in their ministry for the Lord Jesus Christ at different churchs in the area. At her death she was a member of Sash Assembly of God Church.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Elmo and Son in Law, Jack Dennis Wilson.

Mrs. Strickland is survived by children, Larry Neal Strickland & wife, Patricia Ann of Telephone; Dewayne Strickland and wife, Debra of Honey Grove and Diane Wilson of Honey Grove. Sister, Kathy Reese of Riverside CA. Grandchildren, Kim Bryant and husband, Stanley; Katie Wilson; Jamie Garess; Jessica Naylor and Jeremy Strickland and wife Lindsay. Step-grandchildren, Stacy McNeal and Wife, Hilary and Seth McNeal. 9 great-grandchildren, and 3 step great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
