DURANT, Okla. -- Local walkers and joggers will soon have a new facility to utilize in enjoying their workouts.
Southeastern Oklahoma State University Director of Athletics Keith Baxter announced today that the Bloomer Sullivan Arena will be open to the general public beginning on Aug. 16. The facility will be open Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to noon during the normal University calendar except on University holidays or if an event is scheduled at the facility. Walkers and joggers will be limited to the upper level of the arena without access to the basketball court. Participants may enter through the northwest doors of the arena.
"We are delighted to offer this opportunity to the community," Baxter said. "Especially in times of inclement weather, we believe this will provide a wonderful venue for our community members to enjoy their exercise programs."
Listed below are rules and guidelines regarding use of the facility for exercise participants:
-- Operating hours¯6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., M F , excluding University Holidays. A schedule of closings will be posted at the entrance.
-- Entrance to Walking Track will be the Northwest Arena doors.
-- Access limited to upper concourse only (Wood Floor access is strictly prohibited).
-- No pets.
-- Students under 18 must be accompanied by Parent/Adult.
-- Baby Strollers permitted.
-- Vehicles, bicycles, skates, skateboards etc. are strictly prohibited.
-- Food & Beverages prohibited.
-- Southeastern is not responsible for any damages/accidents arising from the use or inability to use this site.
