Bonham -- The Creative Arts Center wrapped up its second very successful Music in the Garden concert series Thursday evening with a powerful contemporary Christian concert by X-alt.

The music series proved to be so popular that there is a chance the Creative Arts Center will resume this concert series in the late fall.  If so, the stage may still be shaking from the energetic performance X-alt brought to town June 17.

In the two years of its existence, Music in the Garden has certainly done its share to bring a wealth of family-friendly entertainment to Fannin County.

"On behalf of Fannin Community Foundation, thank you so much for your support," said Bob Self as he welcomed yet another large crowd to the garden behind Creative Arts Center

The Fannin Community Foundation is responsible for bringing Creative Arts Center and community thrift store 2nd Time Around to Bonham and Mr. Self serves as Executive Director of the Foundation.

Obviously elated that the concert series has been such a success, Self stated, "We want to thank everyone, especially Tonja Brown for sponsoring this event,"

Mrs. Brown operates Tonja Brown Insurance, Farmers Insurance Group in Bonham.

The remainder of the evening was foot-stompin', rock-the-house gospel music, courtesy of X-alt's remarkable array of vocalists, talented beyond description and backed very capably by two keyboards, guitar, bass and drums.  When performers pour their heart into each song and have this much fun celebrating the precious gift of music in worship, the crowd is soon caught up in the enthusiasm.  With a different lead singer taking over on almost every song and different ensembles rotating on and off the stage, the sound was always fresh. This group has a well-conceived selection of songs and X-alt just seemed to get better with every song of praise.

Normally, you can find X-alt leading the song service at Faith Church in Sherman, but this group has been kind enough to grace the stage at Music in the Garden once in 2009 and now once in 2010.

You can rest assured someone is penciling in this talented crew for year number three.
