Faith Church will be hosting a Ladies Power Lunch on June 22 from 12 pm – 1 pm.  The guest speaker is Joan Douglass, who will be speaking on “Changing Seasons with Changing Meaning.”

In the book of Ecclesiastes we are reminded that there is a time for everything under the sun. There are times that we know that certain events are bound to happen. We try to be ready for these times. Yet as seasons pass we are surprised by unexpected happenings. The question is what have we learned from the changing seasons and how we cope with the unsettling times.

Joan Douglass of Douglass Distributing and founder of Grayson County Home Hospice was named Community Volunteer of the Year in the 2009 Best of Texoma magazine.  In addition to being a founder for Home Hospice, she has been actively involved in several other Texoma organizations, including Wesley Village in Denison, the Rehabilitation Center for Children and Adults and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Grayson County.

Joan received her degree in psychology and also worked as a hospital lab technician.  Joan and her husband Bill have two children and two grandchildren.  Joan has taught Sunday School at Grace United Methodist Church for 27 years and serves as a board member there.

Please join us for lunch to hear this accomplished woman share her thoughts of the changes around us.
