Durant Main Street announced Mega Bull ’10 tickets went on sale March 22. Choctaw Casino and Resort and Choctaw Travel Plaza will again co-sponsor its popular fundraiser. The event will be held on April 17, 2010, at 7 p.m. at the Durant Roundup Club Arena.

Tickets are only $10 in advance for adults and $7 for children. At the gate, the prices go to $15 for adults and $10 for children. Advance tickets are well worth the price as they include a $10 free play at the Choctaw Casino and Resort and a $1 off for the Coors Afterparty, plus they will bring chances to win prize drawings for fans.

Red Main Moist Snuff will be back with samples of their products. Various other giveaways will be available through the event program. Items will also be distributed throughout the crowd, so everyone will have a chance to win.

This year will focus on kids with special activities beginning at 5:30 p.m. By coming early, games and goodies will be abundant. The National Guard will bring their climbing wall. Miss Magnolia will be on hand, and kids can have their faces painted like the clowns. Clowns will take pictures with the kids, and most of the fun will be free with admission. Special performances will also feature youngsters.

The sixth annual bullriding was featured in the March/April ’08 issue of Oklahoma Today as one of the state’s best, biggest, and burliest rodeos. The popular event is fun for the entire family with bullriding at its best along with entertainment galore.

The title for Mega Bull ’05 Winner went to Tim Wilson of Queensland, Australia. Skeeter Kingsolver of McLeod, Kansas, took home the title for Mega Bull ’06.  Kingsolver currently rides the PBR Built Ford Tough Series. Buddy Lusk of Springer, Oklahoma won in ’07, and Cody White of Choctaw, OK took the title in ‘08. Cody Atwood of Decatur, TX, won the buckle in ’09. Other riders have come from Utah, Nebraska, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma. Some of the cowboys came from the Professional Bull Riders Tour, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, and other regional associations.

Doug Williams, announcer for UPRA Finals, and other personnel will join together to make this a bullriding with pizzazz. Cameron Keeton, the barrel man, will add humor with his unique style. Justin Dow, producer, is looking forward to the event.

Durant Main Street Program Manager Donna Dow commented, “We are excited about the event. From the response we have received from sponsors and riders, it promises to be as popular as ever. We do our very best to put on a show to entertain true bullriding fans.” To find out more, contact Donna Dow at 580-924-1550 or e-mail ddow@durantmainstreet.org.
