SHERMAN, TEXAS— The photographic exhibit “Contemplo: regarding nature” is on display at Austin College through March 26 in Ida Green Gallery of Ida Green Communication Center, presented by the Austin College Department of Art and Art History. The display, open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., is free and open to the public.
Contemplo is a group exhibit organized by the Red Dots Collective, whose members include alumnae of the photography department of Texas Tech School of Art, working together to encourage creativity and curate exhibits. The artists are based all over Texas and the United States.
Brianna Burnett, Austin College 2002 graduate who earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Texas Tech University in 2008, is one of the artists whose work is included in the exhibit. Other artists include Toyia Zachery, Crissy Griswold, Elizabeth Mott, Tonja Hagy, Jaci Ross, Liz Pace, Kalee Appleton, Patricia Earl, Tesa Morin, Jennifer Buell, and Irma Sizer.
The Austin College Department of Art and Art History hosts a number of art exhibits throughout the academic year. “Overlay 2: Recent Works by Laurie Weller” will open March 22 in the Dennis Gallery of Forster Art Complex.
