Bonham -- Visitors now have a new reason to visit Bonham State Park.
This scenic 261-acre state park already offered miles of hiking, jogging and mountain bike trails. Photography fans are fond of an abundance of waterfowl and wildflowers that dot the park's verdant rolling hills. Fishermen enjoy solitude that awaits at the no-wake, 65-acre lake.
Ever since the park opened in 1935, this has been a favorite place to picnic and camp.
History buffs come to this peaceful setting to appreciate the seemingly timeless craftwork that went into limestone buildings constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the early 1930s.
Now canoe enthusiasts and anyone that enjoys a fun way to exercise will be gliding through the usually calm water of the 65-acre lake that Bonham State Park is built around.
