'Cancer and End-of-Life Care Teleconference' March 24 in Sherman

Hospice Foundation of America 17th Annual Teleconference entitled “Cancer and End-of-Life Care” will be presented March 24, 2010 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at Wilson N. Jones Classrooms in Sherman Texas.

Jolene Senek, Bereavement Coordinator at Home Hospice says, “In addition to the teleconference, we have a great panel of local professionals who, along with the Hospice Foundation of American panel, have agreed to share their experience and insight with regards to cancer and end-of-life care.” 

The topic will address the delicate transition from curative care to palliative/hospice care, ethical issues, psychosocial aspects of cancer and pain management all related to cancer. 

Grief and loss for the patient, caregiver and family will be discussed providing insight to professionals who encounter this disease on a daily basis.   

The local panel includes Denice Nowlan, RN, Texoma Medical Center and Cancer Survivor, Kat Studer, RN, who is a Oncology Certified Nurse, Paula Perkins, Social Worker and Jolene Senek, the Bereavement Coordinator.

Attendance is free but our space is limited so please mark your calendar and register today.  Continuing Education Unit’s are available and you may register for them after the teleconference.  Detailed instructions will be provided at the end of the teleconference.
