Commerce Police investigating after Wood Company burglarized, tools stolen

COMMERCE —  The Commerce Police Department is investigating a burglary of a building which occurred sometime during Sunday, March 7, 2010 where a large amount of tools were stolen.   The Commerce Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in generating leads that may help us to solve this burglary.   

Officers responded to a report of a burglary at American Wood in the 800 block of 4th street.  According to the report, the suspects went into the business and stole several pieces of equipment.  Some of the equipment stolen is listed as 1 Electronic Mitutoyo Caliper, several different types of wrenches, drill bits, 2 Dewalt palm Sanders, screwdrivers, 1 bevel protractor machine level,  2 ball pin hammers, 2 carabineers and drill guides. 

In addition, the suspects took some specialty parts that were specially manufactured for the company’s wood machines.  These specialty items are valuable to the company because they will have to be manufactured again.

The suspects also smashed the vending machine glass and stole all of the food items in the machines.   

The Commerce Police Department is asking the public to be aware of anyone attempting to sell any items fitting the descriptions above.
