Trenton baseball defeats Cumby in season opener

Trenton baseball opened up the season with a win over Cumby 9-4.

Nathan Henry picked up the win on the mound for the Tigers.  Henry went 5 innings and gave up 1 hit, 0 ER, 5 BB, and had 8 Ks.  Justin Hinton pitched the last two innings and gave up 2 ER, 3 hits, 0 BB,and struck out 3.

Dylan Blaylock led the Tigers at the plate by going 2-4 with 2 RBI's.  Justin Hinton had an RBI double and finished 1-2 in the game.  Other Tigers adding hits were Branden Stone, Wyatt Beezley, and Slater Stone.

The Tigers will be back in action on Friday for the Sam Rayburn Wood Bat Tournament.

Trenton Middle School Tigers 12, Princeton 4

The Trenton Middle School team got a win in their first game over a Princeton select team by the score of 12-4. 

Bailey Burks picked up the win on the mound.  Burks went 3 innings, gave up 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8.  Garret Puyear pitched the last two innings, gave up 2 hits, waked 3, and struck out 2.

Kyle Wylie ended the game with 2 hits and a walk.  Garrett Puyear had 3 singles in the contest.  Other Tigers with hits included Bailey Burks, Josh Tanguma, and Dillon Carroll.

The Tigers will be back in action on Monday as they travel to Calera, OK.
