ADA, Okla. - Southeastern had five players in double figure scoring, including a career-high 21 points from Jessica Hesse en route to an 82-73 win over East Central to sweep the season series as part of Rivalry Week.
Southeastern moves to 16-5 on the year and 6-2 in Lone Star Conference North Division play.
Hesse scored her 21 points off the bench, while Kacey Russell added 15, Elizabeth Dean 13, Nikki Nester 11 and Destiny Brown chipped in 10.
Brown completed the double-double with a game-high 11 rebounds, while Ashley Hobbs added eight boards, followed by seven from Hesse.
The Savage Storm dished out 18 assists on the night as a team led by Russell's seven, while Nester doled out five.
SE shot 82.8 percent from the charity stripe, including a 20-for-22 performance in the second half.
The Storm got out in front early and took as much as a seven point lead midway through the half.
ECU, however, got its three-point shooting in order and by the 5:15 mark of the half had tied the score at 16-16.
SE would pull ahead again, taking a 28-22 lead with 1:39 to play, but the Tigers would finish the half with three-straight threes to take a 31-30 lead to the half.
The Storm would again push out to a lead, this time eight, but again ECU's three-point shooting would tie the game, this time at 50-50 with 10:30 to play.
SE would get a Hesse jumper to regain the lead for good on SE's next possession and would quickly build the lead to seven.
The Tigers would get as close as three-points down the stretch, but SE would recover and pull away late for the 82-73 win.
