Leonard takes two from Bells

Friday night was sure a game for the record books.  Well not exactly, but if you like a nail-biter it was just the ticket.  The Leonard girls won their game over the Bells Panthers.  Both teams stayed close throughout the game, with the lead changing several times.  When the final buzzer sounded, it was a win in the Leonard girls' column.

The varsity boys game followed and what an exciting game from the beginning.  With Bells winning the tip off and advancing toward the goal, the ball was rejected and James Arnold traveled coast to coast and scored Leonard's first basket.  It would be several scores later that Bells would score.  With the lead changing continually, this game was not an easy one for either team.  Leonard's Will Cowen was quite evenly matched and had to rely on his rebounding skills to come out with the ball.

Bells would eventually catch the Tigers and then the regular game buzzer sounded, it was a tie ball game at 43.  The beginning of overtime proved once more that the game would be no easy win. Leonard would take the lead and keep it.  With just 33 seconds left in overtime Bells finally makes a free throw and scoring their only point in overtime.   With a win in the Leonard Tigers' win column, they will face Whitewright at Leonard on Tuesday night, with Leonard honoring their senior girls at Senior night.
