STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS—Students were introduced to exciting career opportunities in medical laboratory science during a recent meeting of the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS).
Approximately 60 chemical professionals, students and faculty from area universities attended the meeting held at Tarleton State University’s Terrell School of Medical Technology in Fort Worth.
The program featured a panel discussion designed to introduce chemists, particularly undergraduate students and recent graduates, to career opportunities in medical laboratory science. It also served to inform medical laboratory professionals about ACS as well as career advancement opportunities in chemistry.
Panelists members included Sally Lewis, Ph.D., head of Tarleton’s medical laboratory science department; Michele Russell, adjunct instructor of medical lab science at Tarleton; and Michelle O’Neal, a chemist with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office.
