Orman (Rod) Roderick, 76, passed away, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at his home near Pecan Gap.
 
Funeral services will be at 2:00PM, Friday, February 5, at the First Baptist Church in Pecan Gap with Ruben Trussell and Cary Kinnaird officiating and interment will follow in the Pecan Gap Cemetery under the direction of the Delta Funeral Home in Cooper.

Family will receive friends from 6PM to 8PM, Thursday night at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Roderick was born, June 28, 1933, near Pecan Gap to W.E. (Bill) Roderick and Clara Fields Roderick.  He graduated from Ladonia High School in 1952, was a Korean Veteran and retired after 38 years on the Cotton Belt Railroad.  He was a member and a deacon at First Baptist Church of Pecan Gap, was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, was Past Master of Bethel Lodge 134 in Ladonia, receiver of the Golden Trowl, was a District Deputy, was Past Patron of Order of Eastern Star and served on the Relay for Life Team.
 
The greatest gift Orman processed was his love and concern for others.  All who knew him can attest to his generosity and loyalty to his church and community.              

August 14, 1953 he married June Sandlin.              

Survivors:  Wife:  June Roderick, Daughter, Rita Erwin and Husband, Weldon Erwin of Commerce
His best four legged friend, Sissy Girl
Sisters:  Doris Clark and husband, Gene Clark of Kaufman, Loriene Hall and husband, Burl Hall of Royce City
Brother:  Dean Eudy and wife, Margaret Eudy of Cooper
And a host of Friends.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Opal Berry and Vernel Eudy.
