Telephone, Texas -- Memorial services for Verna Nell Maxey, age 66, of Telephone will be held at 2:00 P.M. at Telephone Baptist Church on Thursday, February 4, 2010. Rev. Bill Thornton will officiate the service. Mrs. Maxey passed away at her residence in Telephone on Tuesday, February 02, 2010. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.
Verna Nell (Giles) Maxey was born on September 1, 1943 in Robstown, TX to parents Robert Lee and Enna Samples Giles. She married William David Maxey on July 13, 1963 in Garland, TX. Mrs. Maxey was a homemaker.
She is survived by husband-David Maxey of Telephone; daughter-Tammie Shaw and husband Jim of Telephone; son-Todd Maxey of Telephone; grandchildren-Hunter Maxey, Lindsey Maxey, Will Shaw, Kassie Shaw; sister’s-Frances Allison, Juanita Cogburn; and brother’s-James Lee Giles, Barney Giles, and Frank Giles. Preceded in death by parents, and brother’s Harry Giles and Billy Giles.
