Robyn Raggio named Photographer of Month by Friends of Hagerman

Robyn Raggio, artist and photographer, and the new Director of Children's Creative Learning at the Bonham, TX Creative Art Center, has been named February Photographer of the Month by the Friends of Hagerman NWR.  Ms. Raggio will have twelve photographs taken at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge featured in a virtual gallery on the Friends website, www.friendsofhagerman.com this month.

Raggio attended Chapman College and graduated from California State University in Hayward, in 1973 with a Bachelors Degree in Photography and Technical Illustration, and a minor in English and Creative Writing. She worked in broadcasting for twenty plus years, at KRON-NBC in San Francisco, and in the LA market, for KTTV-Fox Broadcasting, KHJ and the graphics department of KCET, PBS Los Angeles. 

While in the broadcasting Ms. Raggio became a member of IATSE Local 816, The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and The Broadcast Designers Association. While at KCET, she won the First Place National Design Award from PBS National for a graphics print piece and several nominations for print and on-air promotion.

She is currently producing fine art images in both digital and film format, and painting and multi-media canvas originals. Raggio loves teaching,  and has taught at Learning Tree University in Thousand Oaks, as well as for high school and various outreach programs in the K-6 grades of the elementary schools in California. She now lives in Sherman, Texas, and is on the Board of Directors of the Denison Arts Council as Director of Image Development. 

Raggio is currently working on promotion pieces for the Denison Arts and Cultural District.   She originated the concept and organized the Habitat for Humanity Art Exhibit (which will be continuing this year) and is a contributing photographer for Texoma Living Magazine.

In addition, Raggio teaches weekly classes in Art and Creative Concepts to children from 4 to 12 years old at the Creative Arts Center in Bonham.

Ms. Raggio’s images have been exhibited in a number of California galleries. In Texas she is being represented by the Mary Karam Gallery, and has exhibited at the Eisemann Center in Richardson, the Mary Karam Gallery, Fresh Light Gallery, Images Gallery, ArtPlace Gallery and Wild Lotus in Denison, TX.
